FTP

To access our FTP site on a Windows PC through Internet Explorer, type the following into your browser — ftp.pxpohio.com

A login control panel will appear asking for the following information:

Username: pxpclient
Password: (Please contact PXPOHIO at 614-575-4242, ask for Prepress)

To view this FTP site in Internet Explorer 7, click Page, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. This will enable you to see the Incoming and Outgoing folders in a graphical format that will allow you to drag and drop your files.

It is recommended that this method be used only for transferring files less than 500K. If you try to transer large files with a slow connection using a web browser, your attempts may or may not work and you will not get consistent results.

Using an FTP Client to transfer files.

We highly recommend using an FTP Client to make your connection and transfer your files. Your FTP uploads will be faster and more secure.

One key benefit that most FTP Client programs offer is the ability to resume a download that did not successfully finish. It's a very nice feature for people using dial-up connections who frequently lose their internet connection.

There are many FTP client software programs available for Windows PC's including SMART FTP or the freeware FTP Commander.

If you are using a Macintosh computer running OSX or OS9 we recommend using an FTP client software such as FETCH or the freeware program for OSX CYBERDUCK.

The following graphic shows a sample of the settings for the Fetch and Cyberduck clients. These settings should transfer to other clients as well. If you are still having problems connecting, please call for assistance at 614.575.4242.

Files should be compressed before sending using the following methods:

PC: WinZip or Stuffit

Mac (OS 9): Stuffit

Mac (OSX 10.3 or later): Stuffit or
(Right-Click or control-Click and choose Create Archive of " ".)

We highly recommend compressing your files to insure reliable file transfer.

Files should be labeled with your company name and a short descriptive title:

i.e. - ACME CO-March Broch
